Hi, I welcome you to yet another update.
Getting lots done in a short amount of time is always a challenge. I can tell you that my brain has been about to explode a couple of times in the past week. So many new and awesome skills to learn and actually use in both preparation, exercises, and flight. Also getting so much more appreciation for the path of becoming a commercial pilot “I love it”. Currently I am juggling five classes being Meteorology, Principles of flight, Aircraft general knowledge, Radio certification and starting tomorrow Air law. Although it seems like that might be all of it, beginning of the upcoming month I will also be starting the class Navigation.
Learning a lot on the ground is great but of course that’s not all of it. Let’s take it to the skies for a moment. Currently I’m on my fifth lesson which I flew earlier today. Been executing some different flight maneuvers and finding out where I am on a map at a given time by looking out and finding landmarks then seeing if it can be used to identify my position. Other than just the basics, we are starting to be graded on our actual handling of the aircraft with the checklist by heart items (executing checklist items without a checklist then verifying it afterwards with the checklist.) but also in what I am supposed to prepare for to the specific lesson on my own beforehand. Example, today I had to practice go-arounds/missed approach and for that learn the procedures by heart.
A lot of exciting things going on. And I can’t wait for my first solo flight in about a month after getting my radio license.
Thank you for tuning in.
BEV, over and out.
